Connecting patients with care

Delta Dental of South Dakota supports access to dental care for elderly and disabled individuals through the Donated Dental Services Program. This initiative links patients who cannot afford treatment with volunteer dentists who generously provide their services. Since 2004, Delta Dental of South Dakota has strengthened the program by funding essential staffing resources, helping deliver nearly $9 million in care to more than 2,300 patients statewide.

Investing in preventive care and workforce growth

Delta Dental of Massachusetts supports Bristol’s dental hygienist program to strengthen preventive dental care and promote overall health in the region. Dental hygienists play a critical role in encouraging good oral and physical health, and this program helps meet the growing demand for one of the fastest-growing occupations in the country. Through this investment, Delta Dental of Massachusetts advances access to care and supports the development of a skilled oral health workforce.

Strengthening Wisconsin’s dental workforce

Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation’s matching funds to the Wisconsin Technical College System will help launch two new programs—dental therapy and expanded function dental auxiliary (EFDA)—and increase the number of dental hygienists. Combined with state funding, this investment addresses workforce shortages and enhances care for vulnerable populations, ensuring stronger oral health outcomes across Wisconsin.

As the nation’s largest oral health philanthropist, Delta Dental has remained dedicated to expanding access to oral health care, which is critical to preventing chronic disease and supporting whole-person health. In 2024, Delta Dental invested $119.7 million to support programs in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, impacting 15.6 million lives.
